Rebranding NYU's Largest Tech Community

tech@nyu is NYU's largest tech community. As marketing lead, I coordinated our social media posting schedule and rebranded our website.

My Approach

My Approach

Previously, tech@nyu had a consistent presence across socials, but subpar engagement relative to its following. I wanted to create content that would encourage engagement and convert passive followers into actively engaged members of a wider community.

To orient my strategy, I did a competitive analysis and SWOT exercise of similar clubs to tech@nyu.

From these exercises, I concluded that tech@nyu had a massive opportunity to differentiate ourselves through LinkedIn engagement and showcasing community.

As Marketing Lead I also worked to establish workflows that would make it easier for us to reach our community members.

I established a posting schedule for our Instagram and a growth plan for our LinkedIn. I was responsible for creating graphics and editing our short-form video content for Instagram Reels.

As a result, we were able to be much more organized and focused in our social media strategy, leading to massive growth in multiple areas across 2025.

Takeaways

From my time as Marketing Lead to now being Vice President of this community, I've learned that the best brands find a way to make people feel like a part of something greater than themselves.

I felt that the strongest aspect of our positioning was our inclusiveness and ability to bring everyone into tech. By re-branding our website and creating community-first social content, I was able to strengthen our position as the leading tech-related club at NYU.
